Follow the transformation of the Kellogg’s Silos:
An Industrial Heritage Reimagined
The refurbishment of the former Kellogg’s silos posed a unique architectural challenge.
The iconic red ‘Kellogg’s’ logo still tops the 40-metre-high silos, now housing 117 circular and semi-circular hotel rooms. The adjacent former vitamin store has been repurposed into five floors of office space with conference rooms, and its rooftop now features an event space with panoramic views.
Hotel rooms were created by cutting narrow window slits into the 16-cm-thick concrete walls, offering varied views of the Weser. The funnel-shaped silo outlets were integrated into the hotel lobby, while new passages connect the cylinders. In total, 3,500 m³ of concrete was manually removed.
